My Wild Garden is one of a number of ground-breaking projects helping to care for and improve our natural environment, as part of the Greater Manchester 5 Year Environment Plan.
My Wild Garden is part of the wider My Wild City campaign run by The Wildlife Trust for Lancashire, Manchester and North Merseyside in partnership with Manchester City Council, funded by Esmeé Fairbairn Foundation. The project aims to reconnect people with the wildlife in their gardens and local areas, particularly during this difficult time, and stay in touch with nature while following current government guidelines.
Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) and The Wildlife Trust have been working in partnership to put together an exciting campaign that aims to encourage people to reconnect with nature.
We have developed a downloadable booklet designed to help people enjoy and care for the wildlife in their own back gardens and on their balconies. The downloadable booklet aims to:
- kick start peoples interest in wildlife gardening
- provide fun projects for people while we are in lockdown
- help families reconnect with the nature just outside their window
